Still Life With Bird Nest

This Still Life painting by British artist W. Vincent was badly damaged. The canvas had a large horizontal tear in the centre of the painting and the Rococo gilded frame had many missing decorations.
The treatment involved dry and wet cleaning, mending the tear by welding thread by thread, filling the parts of missing paint and retouching to match the original colours. The frame had the missing decorations applied and was finished with water gilding, matching the original gold leaf tone.
